| Unreleased artwork from All Over You single proof

When a single is being prepared for release, the band and management will at some point have to choose what they want the cover art to look like. Normally, they have some sort of an idea beforehand. A few ideas (normally anywhere between 4 and 10 variations of the artwork in mind) get professionally printed onto a sheet of paper called a cover proof. Based on the variations of the artwork presented, the band and management make a choice on what the single will look like.
I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the cover proof for the All Over You single. Above are scans of the alternate covers the band could gone with for this single.

The tracktime for track 1 is listed as 3:69 on the disc (which is obviously not a real time...it would mean 4:09). At first I thought this was simply a funny typo. However, I then took into account the fact that the catalog number of the disc does not match the catalog number mentioned in the matrix number. Basically, the matrix number lists a '5', whereas the catalog number on the disc lists a '6'. Also, if we consider the fact that there is a commercial Australian 'All Over You' CD single [RAD 33352] with the exact same matrix number as this one, it leads one to believe that the catalog number for this promotional release should be RAD33352-PRO, instead of RAD33362-PRO.
If indeed the above hypothesis is true, then I am inclined to guess that the person who originally typed up the information that would appear on the surface of this disc had the 5 and 6 keys switched on him. The only reason I can't fully believe that this is the case is because the copyright date and festival year mentioned on the disc (1995) are both correct. |

On my copy of this single the matrix number is not visible in scans since it appears to have been printed on the clear plastic area of the disc, and not slightly further out where it normally would appear. Holding the CD up to the light will allow you to see the matrix number. It is uncertain if all copies of this single were misprinted in this way. |
