Dated May 14th, 2001.
This is the earliest known pressing of Live's album 'V'. It predates 'Ecstatic Fanatic' (the title Live were going to go with for the name of their fifth album - although they eventually scrapped this title in favour of 'V'). This pressing is so early that the band didn't even have a clue what they were going to call the album, hence 'Album Title TBD' on both the disc and the back cover. It was released to the media and promoters on May 14th, 2001. This date is a full 32 days before the media release of 'Ecstatic Fanatic', 101 days prior to the media release of 'V', and 127 days before the American commercial release of 'V' on September 18th, 2001. All in all, this CD-R acetate was issued more than 4 full months before the album actually hit store shelves.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this early pressing of the album is the alternate version of 'Transmit your Love'. For all intents and purposes, the song is the same as it is on the commercial release of the album, except for the parts where Ed normally sings "Tell your leaders love is in town / To turn this whole thing upside down / We can't take it anymore". These parts do not exist. In their place are the following lyrics: "Put your beer down, get the fuck up! / Transmit your love to me / Put your beer down, get the fuck up!".
This very early pressing does not include the song 'Intro', which appears on all other later copies of the album (incuding the 'Ecstatic Fanatic' pressings).
The cover mislabels the 11th song as 'OK'.
The version of 'Forever May not be Long Enough' which plays on this disc is the earlier version of the song, which appears on the soundtrack to 'The Mummy Returns'. |
